I have outlook with around 10 accounts. When ever I try to add the third exchange account, outlook instantly crashes with "outlook stopped working" then I have to repair it, then create a new profile to get it running again wont even start in safe mode.

When I enable it, outlook crashes. However, with it disabled, I can still use my exchange accounts in outlook. So what features does this plugin actually provide? What will I be missing without this plugin? If its not much, ill just leave it off.

I have found that when I am connected through my Verizon MiFi device, my Outlook client on the pc will not connect to my company email server I believe it is an exchange server unless I disable the 'Microsoft Exchange Add-In' in Outlook.

It sure seems like everything in Outlook is working as expected. It is not needed when you do not have any Exchange accounts configured in Outlook. How do I know if my email account I access through the Outlook client on my PC in an exchange account?

Basically, if I don't have an exchange account then I want to keep the add-in disabled, and if I do have an exchange account I would like to know exactly what is being affected when I disable the 'Microsoft Exchange Add-In'.

This question has not been answered in this thread yet. When you say 'Admin Mode' do you mean that the win user account is a limited account, and does not have admin rights? MS does not have anyone informed enough to answer the question, and I also would ignore the condescending response.

Bump - I have exactly the same question as well. To Palcouk - I use a hotmail account exchange - Outlook seems to work fine without the add-in - The add-in only works when I run Outlook as administrator mode, which is troublesome to do - Hence to reiterate RipTack's question - Do I really need to have Exchange add-in running?

This question has not been answered in this thread yet - If so, which functions, so that I can once in a while run it as administrator mode. To Riptack McCoy - From the description the add-in appears to provide the following: unified messaging i think backward compatability , email permissions calendar availability.

In reply to jasonlim's post on August 25, By default the Ex Add-in is enabled. This is pathetic. I didn't see a good response to this question; however, I do know that without the Exchange Add-in the "Room Finder" feature isn't available.

Honestly this is the only thing that I'm aware of that the Exchange Add-in does. I'm sure that there is more, but I haven't found documentation stating a full feature list.
